Youth Explosion for Christ International (YMECI) is a faith-driven nonprofit organization committed to uplifting immigrant youth and families in Louisiana. Our mission is to foster hope and transformation by providing essential services that help newcomers navigate the complexities of language, education, and economic challenges. With a dedicated team and a strong community focus, we aim to empower individuals and families to achieve long-term self-reliance and prosperity.

How We Started
YMECI began in 2019 with a simple calling: reach people in need and remind them they are not forgotten. What started as outreach, hot meals, and prayer grew into something bigger as we saw what families in our community were really carrying.
So many of our neighbors are immigrants, refugees, and families from across the migrant diaspora, working hard to build a life in a place where the language, the systems, and the paperwork weren’t made with them in mind. We saw parents miss school meetings because no one could interpret. Youth trying to sort out their futures alone. Families quietly going without.
So we stepped in.
Today, YMECI serves families across Louisiana with roots that reach beyond our borders, offering interpretation, guidance, college support for young graduates, and youth programs that help people not just get by, but thrive.
