YMECI

We are so grateful to share that YMECI received the Haitian Community Service and Solidarity Award from LORI, the Louisiana Organization for Refugees and Immigrants, at its 2026 Annual Banquet, One Louisiana, One Table.

Navigating complex systems, rights, and resources can often leave families feeling frustrated, uncertain, and unheard. As part of our YMECI Grand Opening events at 535 Holmes Blvd in Terrytown, we brought community members together for an essential session focused on advocacy, rights, and practical preparation.

Immigrants have long been the backbone of many societies, bringing diverse perspectives, skills, and resilience. Their stories often reflect a journey filled with challenges, hope, and triumph. In this blog post, we will explore transformative stories of immigrants who have not only overcome obstacles but have also contributed significantly to their new communities. These narratives highlight the strength of the human spirit and the potential for growth and success in the face of adversity.
